Introduction
FOURFOLD ARCHITECTURE recognizes that architectural practice does not succeed on the basis of quality design work alone. As a design service provider, our priorities must be to hear our client, understand their desires, reveal project constraints, communicate opportunities, and present designs that synthesize all of this information to meet the team's ultimate objective: buildings that bring lasting satisfaction to the user. And as designers we have a significant role to play in building, but our success is dependent on the cohesion of the team effort required to build. As architects, we possess the skills and training best suited to lead the consultant team and direct construction on behalf of the owner. We prefer the model of architect as "guide" for our client who is the ultimate decision maker. In this role and with the right team, hierarchy is irrelevant because authority to act is transparent, and our consultants are enabled to serve to the full extent of their abilities and for the best interests of the project.
With our focus on owner engagement and team leadership, and the understanding that the processes of design and building are becoming ever more complex, we have devised our services to be more transparent from the client's perspective. Wanting less jargon and more flexibility, we simplified the traditional architectural service approach to include just three categories: Discovery, Proposal, and Resolution.
